From July 12th - July 28th our students from our BBC Junior Team, Elite Training, and Junior Elite training participated in the 2009 Manhattan Beach Junior Internationals and the 2009 United States Junior Nationals. Our coaching staff, Raju Rai, Paz Ben-Sira and I (Kenny Lu), had one of our most amazing trips. The trip consisted of many close "too close" 3 set matches, there were several major upsets from our team where a lower seeded player or unseeded player beat a top 4 seed. There were also times where it was very emotional for the players and the coaches and there were other times where we lost our voices from cheering for out team, but overall, this was the best tournament for our team thus far. We brought the 4th largest team this year and we even got our own court to practice on everyday. We also had 14 players participate in the 2009 US Team Tournament.

Ying Fang Lai was the recipient of the Debbie Brown award (2009) for a parent selected by the Juniors for being an outstanding parent in support of badminton. Here is the link for more info: http://usjrbadminton.com/debbie-brown-award

I want to thank all the parents (Brenda Tong, Elaine Chen, Youxuan Jin, Stephen Tong, and Ying Fang Lai) for their help at the tournament in California, and I want to thank all the parents for their support to badminton at Bellevue Badminton Club.
