Renata Baker, Victoria Chen, Christine Chen, and Jenny Jin represented the Bellevue Badminton Club at the 2010 USA Junior Invitationals on Feb 13-15 2010 in Orange County Badminton Club just outside of Los Angeles, California. Top players from the country from each age group from the country are invited to compete for a spot to represent USA Junior Badminton at the Pan-American Games which would be held at Dominican Republic in August 2010.
All four players represented our BBC Team 1 and coach Raju Rai spent the weekend coaching our juniors to their success. "This is one of the toughest tournaments and strenuous environments to be in because so many games are played and every game is a high level game" say Raju Rai. In all, the outcome was good and the students were able to gain some valuable experience playing at a high level. Besides the badminton, they were able to visit Walt Disney Land. "We try to make badminton really fun, but the real fun is the relationships that each player gains with one another and the time spent together doing fun activities has made the atmosphere energetic and positive" Kenny Lu, Founder at Bellevue Badminton Club.
Currently there are 3 Teams at the Bellevue Badminton Club. Team 1, Team 2, and Team 3. All three teams are headed by our World Class coaches, Huaiwen Xu and Paz Ben-Sira. "It is important that we help our serious students by developing a Team system so that they may have the opportunity to compete at a high level" say Huaiwen Xu.
Renata Baker, Christine Chen, Vicky Chen and Jenny Jin (reserve team) will represent USA at the Pan-American Games this year. "We are very pleased to have four of our players be part of such a great event and we will look forward in giving them our full support" Paz Ben Sira, BBC Head Coach
