There is a $20 fee for all cancellations. Cancellations before the first day of the registered session will receive a full refund less the $20 cancellation fee. Cancellations after the first day of the registered session will receive an 80% refund of the remaining classes less the $20 cancellation fee. , by phone at 425‑562‑2950, or verbally in-person at the Front Desk. Please provide the student’s name, class, date of absence, and, if possible, the requested date for makeup.
We allow a maximum of two (2) makeup classes for each 8-week session for the Rally, Smash, Competitor, Junior Elite, and Elite classes. For Team 1, Team 2, and Team 3 classes, makeup classes will be based on class availability. Due to the high volume of students, make up classes are not guaranteed and will be approved based on space availability. Please allow us at least three (3) business days to schedule the makeup class; otherwise, you may not get your makeup class scheduled on time. Makeup requests sent over the weekend will be processed on Monday. Makeup requests for makeup on the weekend must be sent before 9pm by that Friday; requests sent after that will be processed on Monday. Please do not show up to class without a confirmation of the scheduled makeup.
All makeups must be scheduled within the same 8-week class session the student missed class; otherwise, the class will be forfeited and the class cannot be carried forward to the next 8-week session.
Attire
Students must wear non-marking, non-black soled shoes. Badminton shoes are highly recommended. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE COURTS IN ANY OTHER SHOES! Badminton shoes can be purchased at BBC’s Pro Shop.
Please dress appropriately for playing sports, i.e., warm up pants, t-shirts and shorts or skirts. (No jeans, dress pants, dress shirts, etc.) Badminton apparel can be purchased at BBC’s Pro Shop.
Equipment
Bringing your own racket is highly recommended. If you do not have a racket of your own yet, you may borrow a racket from the Club for class. Lender rackets are first come, first serve, and the Club cannot guarantee a racket will be available for use every time.
Tournaments
Tournaments are a very important part of badminton students' development. Our staff will organize events where a team will be sent from our Club to participate in local, regional, national, and international tournaments. This may occur during our 8-week class sessions. Our Club will sponsor at least one (1) professional coach to travel with our team for the tournament. It is very important for student-badminton development to have a professional coach teach students during their competition games. Students travelling to tournaments may miss a few classes because tournaments do overlaps with class schedules, especially on the weekends. The Club will sponsor a coach to teach the students during those tournaments and therefore, the classes missed will not be refunded. During tournaments, we do not charge a coaching fee because the Club will sponsor the coach, but we may ask the travelling students (the team) to help compensate the expenses of our coaches.
