When will the requirement for a Birdie Fee be effective?
The Birdie Fee requirement will be effective starting in Session 1 2011, which starts January 3, 2011.
Who must pay the Birdie Fee?
Each student registered for classes will be required to pay the small Birdie Fee.
How much is the Birdie Fee?
The Birdie Fee is $10 per session. The fee amount is the same if a student is only enrolled for half session.
Why are we implementing a Birdie Fee?
In the past, we’ve required students to bring one biridie every time they come to class, but not everybody remembers, or the quality of the birdie would be poor and no longer usable after just a few hits. To be fair to all students, we’ve changed the requirement to just paying a small Birdie Fee each session.
In order to maintain high quality training and practice sessions, we need a good amount of birdies for drills and feeding and the quality of the birdies is very important. Using birdies that do not fly properly, are too heavy, are too light, etc. decreases the quality of what a student gets out of training and practice as the flight of the birdie is different and it does not allow the player to get the proper feel of a shot.
How will the Birdie Fee be used?
This small Birdie Fee will go towards the purchase of bridies for classes. We will be using the Birdie Fee to purchase feathered birdies for Team 1, 2, and 3, Elite, and Jr. Elite classes and nylon birdies for Competitor, Smash, Rally, and Badminton 101 classes.
