How do I keep score?
The winner of each rally earns one point, regardless of which side is serving. Games are played to 21 points. At 20 -20, a side must win by 2 points or reach 30 points first, which ever is sooner.

What should I wear?
Any active wear will do. However, only non-marking non-black soled indoor court shoes are allowed on the gym floor. This means your shoes cannot be black on the bottom, they cannot mark up the courts, regardless of color.
What are non-marking shoes?
Non-marking shoes are shoes that do not mark the courts. Typically, any indoor court shoe will be non-marking, such as indoor basketball, racquetball, or squash shoes are non-marking. The store clerk should be able to tell you which shoes are non-marking. In addition, it should say somewhere on the box or on the shoe if it is non-marking. All badminton shoes are non-marking, so those are the safest shoes to purchase for badminton.
We specify that black soled shoes are not allowed, as those are the ones that typically mark up the courts. However, there are white soled shoes that do mark up the courts. So, make sure the shoes are non-marking versus only looking at the color of the shoe.
Do I need to come with a partner to play?
Nope! Whether you're dropping in as a guest to play or a member of the Club, you are not required to come with a partner to play doubles. You can usually find players at the Club ready to pair up to play some games.
I am not a member. May I still play at the Club?
Yes! We offer drop-in play and court rentals for non-members.
I'd like to come with a group of people to play, and we are not members. What are our options?
You may each pay a drop-in fee to play during our Drop-in hours or you may rent courts by the hour. You would not need to pay the drop-in fee if you are renting a court.
This sport is new to me. How should I get started?
The best way to get started is to simply get onto the court and play! You may start by familiarizing yourself with the basic rules, and then just come and play! Our Club provides 24-hour access to all our members, so members may play at their convenience. We also offer beginner classes for adults and juniors.
I would like to improve my skills. What are my options for classes?
We provide group lessons for adults and juniors. Our coaches also provide private lessons. Please contact the coaches directly to schedule private lessons.
