Mesinee (May) Mangkalakiri
Mesinee (May) Mangkalakiri started playing badminton when a close family friend opened the Orange County Badminton Club in 1996 and invited her to play. She fell in love with the sport the first time she played it.
May qualified for the 2008 Olympics in Women’s Doubles with Eva Lee. May was named the US Olympic Committee’s Female Badminton Athlete of the Year in 2001, 2003 and 2005. She earned a bachelor degree in Social Ecology at the University of California, Irvine in June 2006. Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology and Sport and Exercise Psychology at Argosy University– Orange County in October 2012.
Her hobbies include listening to music, playing the piano and watching movies.
